David Cory Taylor, age 58, of Roosevelt, passed away January 16, 2024, at his home.
He was born March 25, 1965, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Johnny Loyal and Renee Hadlock Taylor.
Cory was a hard worker, and before being put on disability worked as a welder for Ute Manufacturing, he also helped replace the roof on the Neola LDS Chapel. He was honest and wasn’t afraid to stand up for what he believed was right.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, baking, and he followed in his mother’s footsteps by making candy at Christmas time and giving it to friends and family.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He adored his nieces and nephews and spent as much time with them as was possible.
Cory is survived by his sister, Kathleen (Allen) Kirby, of Wasilla, Alaska; his nieces and nephews, Scott (Shannon) Olsen, St. George; Tamera (Brandon) Cook, Sean Olsen, Josh (Heather) Olsen and Krysten Olsen, all of Vernal; Chris Olsen and Harlan Olsen, Roosevelt; Chane (Kacie) Taylor, Twin Falls, Idaho; Ashley (Jameson) Beatty and Randi Freestone, Escondido, California; Adam Freestone, Wasilia, Alaska; Stephanie “Whitehead, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Taylor; his sister, Louise Olsen; and nephews, Justin Freestone & Jaramiah Olsen.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Roosevelt West Stake Center, with a visitation from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
