Coen Val Walker, age 19, of Garland, Utah, chose to return to his loving Heavenly Father's arms on February 13, 2025.
He was born November 2, 2005, in Ogden, to Chase and Deidra Oman Walker. Soon after he spent his early years in Davenport, Iowa. His older brother, Hagen, and he were attached at the hip for those years. So much that we didn't know he could speak because Hagen would speak for him.
Coen had been attending Utah State University as part of the Criminal Justice program. His lifelong dream had been to be a Highway Patrolman. While attending USU he worked at Home Depot as everyone's favorite paint associate. He and his brother made sure every month that their youngest sister, Zuree, was signed up for the kids crafts, and would make sure they were there to watch Dad build it and Mom paint it. He lived a pseudo life on Roblox where he was able to live his lifelong dream of being a law enforcement officer.
Coen was quiet but could be the biggest goofball and would light up a room when he would come out of his shell, refusing to call his parents, “Mom & Dad”, but “Chase & Deidra.” He loved to go and do activities with his family, camping, fishing, crawdadding in Strawberry and Starvation Reservoirs, being with the cows, and playing in Bear Lake. He had a big heart, but really enjoyed teasing his sisters. When he was young, he "arrested" his younger sister Kaneesa and put her in "jail" as he would play police officer and his army men were always scattered everywhere. He loved Legos of all types, especially his "Clone Wars" sets but only if Hagen or Dad built them for him. He also played the trumpet in the marching band, chasing the girls around the house with it while he practiced. He had a great fondness for animals of any kind, but especially dogs, cows, and horses, and his favorite food was Buffalo Wild Wings or Raising Canes. The one thing he could never be without was his baseball cap. One of his favorite pastimes was going to the gym to work out, building those "store-bought muscles".
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had been recently ordained an Elder in the Melchizedek Priesthood. Coen was very much loved and will be deeply missed.
Coen is survived by his parents, Chase & Deidra Walker, of Garland, Utah; siblings, Hagen, Kaneesa, & Zuree; grandparents, Brent & Jesse Ree Walker, Mountain Home; Val & Kathy Oman, Altamont; and many relatives.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
