Clayton Boyd Chidester

    Clayton Boyd Chidester, age 70, of Las Animas, CO, formerly of the Uintah Basin died on November 19, 2018.
    Clayton was born October 16, 1948 in Price to Joe and Minnie Loucille Turknett Chidester.  He married Diane VanDeVanter, they later divorced.  He married Theresa Jean Hubman on April 13, 2000 in Rangley.
    Being honored to serve his country, Clayton served in the US Army, the Marines, and the Navy.  During his military career of twenty years, Clayton earned many different awards including the Purple Heart.  Also, Clayton served two tours during the Vietnam War.  After retiring from the US Marines, Clayton decided to enlist in the US Navy Reserves while working at Hill AFB as civilian employee.  In addition, he was also pursuing his college degree at Weber State University.  Afterwards, Clayton's career consisted of working at Wright Patterson AFB, the State of Utah, the County of Duchesne as the County Planner, and other various jobs though out his life.  Finally, Clayton enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, horse back riding, gold panning, traveling and studying US History.  
    He is survived by his wife, Theresa Chidester, Las Animas, CO; children, Tammy (Dennis) Phyillaier, Beaver; Troy Chidester, SLC: Kimberly (David) Anderson, SLC: step-daughters, Arleesa (Josh) Pemberton, Santa Clara, UT; Leslie (James) Duffey, Pueblo, CO, siblings, Larry Chidester, SLC; Jolene (Wayne) Perank, Myton, and grandchildren, Travis, Erika, Keturah, Bryce, Brennan, Taylor, Sierra, Miranda, Logan, Kirsten, and John.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Travis Chidester.
    Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.  A viewing will be held that morning from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m.
    Burial in the Altonah Cemetery with military honors presented by the Altamont American Legion, Marine Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders.
