Clara Perank MountainLion, age 65, of Myton, passed away June 14, 2022, at the University of Utah Hospital.
She was born October 25, 1955, in Roosevelt, to Nettie Myore and Amos Perank, Sr. She married Arthur MountainLion, Jr., in 1986 and he died in December 22, 1989.
Clara had worked briefly as a dispatcher for the BIA Law Enforcement and was a waitress and a housekeeper at the Bottle Hollow Resort when it was still in business. She enjoyed playing basketball and softball, gambling in Wendover, and traveling in the Western United States and Canada. She also liked to camp at Big Springs with her family, attend the Sundance, and was an avid Utah Jazz Fan. She made it a point to watch the Super Bowl every year and especially liked it if her team, the New England Patriots, were playing. She loved hanging out with friends and cousins.
Clara is survived by her children, Jenny Perank, Naples; Kyle Perank, Toni MountainLion, Myton; Ivy MountainLion, Ft. Duchesne; Jasmine Jim, Salt Lake City; 9 grandchildren; siblings, JoAnn Perank, Arcadia; Eldora Perank, Myton; Amos (Myla) McCurdy, Jr., Whiterocks; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew MountainLion; her husband, Arthur; parents; siblings, Teresa Schulte; Eugene Perank; Eddie Perank; Amy Lou Hansen; Justine Perank; and Jolene Wyasket.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Myton Community Building. There will be a wake at the community building on Thursday after 4:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Myton Cemetery.
