Chase Warren Reed Taveapont, age 35, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away November 27, 2022, of complications of liver failure.
He was born April 5, 1987, in Roosevelt, to Gregory Taveapont and Roberta J Colorow Reed.
Chase worked for many years with his grandfather, Robert Reed, in his construction business. He loved to fish, hunt, trap, go camping, shed hunting, hiking, and listen to music. He was an avid Jazz, Utah Utes, and Bruce Lee fan, and really liked playing Dragon Ball Z, skateboard, ride his bike, mud bogging, and watch his nephews play ball. He was a Sundancer, Bear Dancer, and participated in Sweats and Pow Wows. He was known by many nicknames, including: “Chase-aroo,” “Kangaroo,” “Chicken,” “Roobear,” and “Fisher Man.” He loved and adored his two daughters deeply.
Chase is survived by his daughters, Remedy & Kenzley Taveapont; his mother, Roberta (Emil) Richards, Ft. Duchesne; grandmother, Jeanette Reed, Myton; siblings, Rayson (Marlene) Taveapont; BeKenneth Taveapont, both of Roosevelt; RoJeana (Drew) Manning, Vernal; Kobi (Chelsea) Tapoof, Roosevelt; Lucien Tapoof, Jr., Tiger Taveapont, Andrew Taveapont, all of Ft. Duchesne; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory; his grandfather, Robert Reed; grandparents, Ray Taveapont and Carrie Chase Taveapont; brothers, Nickolas Manning, L.J. Taveapont; aunts, Dottie Reed, and Rosemary Thompson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building. Following the service there will be a luncheon and final viewing.
Burial will be in the Reed Family Cemetery in Farm Creek.
