Rudolph Robert "Buzz" Krissman, 68, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Roosevelt, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2015, after a short illness.
Born December 29, 1946, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Rudolph "Rudy" and Elaine Bastian Krissman. Married Carolyn Nix, later divorced.
Buzz received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics and Aeronautics from Utah State University. He received his ham radio license at age 12, call sign K7NGN. His life was devoted to aviation whether it be for work or play; he loved sharing this passion with his family and friends. He was a skilled pilot and aircraft mechanic; he frequently restored aircraft and owned a number of airplanes. His aviation history included flying entertainment groups such as Rod Stewart, Styx, Elvis Presley's band The Jordanaires, Peter Frampton, Captain & Tennille, The Beach Boys, and many more. He also loved music, and played the guitar and accordion, along with singing. He was known to sound like Johnny Cash, and sang old Yugoslavian songs with his father, who was also an accomplished musician.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survived by children Matthew Robert (Jill) Krissman, Ryan Buzz (Annie) Krissman, Ashley (Mike) Ivie; grandchildren Jenni (Cole) Brackenbury, Janessa Jensen, JoceLynne (Danul) Baeza, Jordan Jensen, Chase, Rylan, Ryann, Carter, Tanner, & Zachery Krissman; Marielle, Malichi, Hailey, & Briggs Ivie; sister Tana (Bob) Dunsmore; nephews Troy & Derek Dunsmore.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola LDS Chapel where a viewing will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be at the Hayden Cemetery
