Our beloved Brent C. Jones died suddenly at his home in Midvale, Utah of natural causes on Friday, December 22, 2023 at the age of 71.
He was born September 30, 1952 in Roosevelt, Utah. The youngest of twin boys born to Virgil Ray and Carol Jones. He grew up in Tabiona, Utah graduating from Tabiona High School where he had many friends and enjoyed playing basketball. He went on to the School for the Deaf in Ogden, Utah. While there he played basketball at Ben Lomond High School. He continued his education at the trade tech in Provo where he learned to be a finish carpenter, which he excelled in all his life. He has been working for Cottonwood Cabinet for over 30 years, even at the time of his death he was getting ready to go to work. “Thank you, Cottonwood Cabinet”
Brent was a hard worker and always busy. When he was still a young man, he went to work at a sawmill 30 miles from home. He rode to work with a neighbor and saved every penny he made. When the job was finished, he had enough money saved to buy himself a brand new beautiful maroon Chevy Monte Carlo car. He was so proud of it.
He was a kind, patient, and caring person. Always taking good care of his family and others. Never complaining.
He married Darlene Thompson in the Los Angeles Temple. They had one son Brandon. Later divorced.
He married Coleen Johnson in the Salt Lake Temple on February 12, 1982. They had 3 children. Daughter Brigitte, died at birth. Son Adri, who died after an illness at the age of 21. And son Zodi still living.
He is survived by son Zodi. Brothers Bruce & Karla Jones, Kim & Barbara Jones, Ryan & Kristy Jones, Sister Yawna & Dean Lindsay, mother Carol Shields, father-in-law Doyle Johnson and Johnson Family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his 2 children, his father Virgil Ray Jones, Brother Jeffrey Jones mother-in-law Legia Johnson.
He liked growing his long white beard. He said it makes people smile and besides “I can be Santa Claus at the family Christmas party.”
A Special Thank You to all who have loved and supported Brent in any way through the years.
