Beatrice Leah Taveapont, age 77, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away at the Intermountain Medical Center in SLC.
Beatrice was born October 30, 1940 in Ft. Duchesne to Ray Taveapont and Harriett Wyasket Johnson.
Beatrice loved to gamble, watch western movies, do beading, crocheting, and travel to casinos and other places. She enjoyed attending the Sun Dance, Pow Wow and was very aware of her Indian heritage. She loved people and was a grandma to everyone. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. She had a raw sense of humor. She delighted in children, animals and was known as the cat lady.
She is survived by her children, Obie “Orlin (Sheri) Taveapont, Orlanna Taveapont, Christalyn (Codie) Wiss, all of Ft. Duchesne; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, siblings, Don (Roseline) Taveapont, Whiterocks; Jane Taveapont, Ft. Duchesne; Vivian Bedonie, Whiterocks; Nancy Thompson, Raymond Taveapont, both of Ft. Duchesne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Lynn Taveapont, Alfred Parriette, Gregory Taveapont, Reed Taveapont, Frank Taveapont, Wilson Taveapont, sisters, Lorraine Taveapont, Bonnie Taveapont, nephews, Tim Taveapont, Daniel Taveapont, nieces, Ruthann Serawop, and Lola Summers, .
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Episcopal Church.
Cremation will follow service.
