Barbara Jean Peterson, age 72, passed away March 8, 2023 at the Uintah Basin Sr. Villa.
She was born on June 8, 1950, in Roosevelt, Utah to Evan Louis Peterson and Juanita Leonora “Nora” Quintana Peterson.
Barbara was a self-proclaimed Daddys Girl and made sure everyone knew it. She took after her dad in every way, especially her “spitfire” personality. Barbara enjoyed crafting, playing bingo and singing karaoke. She loved jewelry and purses so much that she carried them with her everywhere she went.
Barbara faced many trials in her life starting at a young age due to medical conditions, yet she always remained so strong. Just a few weeks before her passing Barbara was diagnosed with terminal cancer but she didn’t shed one tear upon hearing the horrible news, she instead made sure her family members and the Doctor knew that she did not want to receive any type of medical treatment and that she wanted to be buried next to her Daddy.
Barbara was a resident of the Uinta Basin Sr. Villa for 25 years and loved it there. She made it clear that she wanted to pass away at her “Home, Sweet Home,” the Villa, with their staff by her side.
Barbara’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Uintah Sr. Villa for the many years of love and care they gave her.
Barbara is survived by her three daughters, Miranda Stewart, Alicia Kesler and Jennifer Dressler; siblings Connie (Eddie) Parr, Jim (Kim) Peterson, Lynn Peterson, Harry Peterson and David Cradock; her grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evan Louis Peterson and Juanita Leonora “Nora” Peterson; her siblings, Sandra “Sandy” Lee Adderly Main, Marilyn “Moe” Affleck and Glenna Stevenson, nephews, Shay Lee Affleck and Chad Allen Affleck.
