Ann Barton Checora

Ann Lou Barton Checora, age 49, of Riverton, passed away June 9, 2016, at the City Creek Care Center in Salt Lake City.
She was born March 10, 1967, in Roosevelt, and adopted by Jack Douglas and Donna Lou Hanson Barton.  She married Alfred “Sanuchie” Checora, Jr. and he died September 16, 2005.
Ann was a good mother and excellent homemaker.  She was a talented cook – her frybread was like no other – and her favorite hobby was cleaning.  She was good at all sports and played for the College of Eastern Utah Basketball team.  She was a good piano player, so smart that she never had to study for any tests in school, and traveled everywhere, it seemed, in the United States – she loved the ocean.  She enjoyed watching scary movies, eating carrot cake with thick frosting, and KFC mashed potatoes. She had a fondness for crystal goblets.  She had a great sense of humor which will be dearly missed.      She is survived by her children, LaRon Guy Calhoun (Erin Madsen), Riverton; Tyrone Jack Barton, Riverton; Latosha Ann John, Ft. Duchesne; Kidijah Ray Checora, Vernal; Jamal Scott Checora, Logan; her parents Donna & Jack Barton, Las Vegas; siblings, Sabra Barton, Salt Lake City; Johanna Jenkins, Ft. Duchesne; John Douglas (Patty) Barton, Hancock Cove; Lloyd Douglas (Kaylyn) Barton; David Douglas (Judy) Barton; Cindy Lou Barton, all of Vernal; Katy Lou (Jason) Barton-Beler, North Dakota; and last but not least, her favorite dog, Wookie.
Ann was preceded in death by her son, Alex Calhoun; parents, Clarice Wissiup and Larry Jack; sister, Lisa Barton; husband, Alfred Checora, Jr; and ex-husband, Alban John, Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Altamont LDS Stake Center.  There will be a viewing on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.
