Live-Stream of the Funeral HERE. Angeline Lewis Evans, age 81, returned to her heavenly family on May 26, 2024, at her home in Arcadia, Utah.
“Angie” was born May 5, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elvin William and Angeline Lunceford Lewis. As one of ten children, Angie grew up on a sheep ranch in the small town of Tabiona, Utah. She loved her large, spirited family. While attending BYU, she met Fred B Evans at a Uintah Basin party. She married him on August 12, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A cousin remembered going to their reception as a young girl and thought she was the most beautiful bride she had ever seen. They lived in Rexburg, Tabiona, Neola and finally settled in Arcadia, Utah. In each community, Angie made cherished lifelong friends.
Angie possessed many wonderful attributes including being caring, hardworking, artistic and creative.
She enjoyed raising rambunctious kids, gardening, canning, chokecherry picking, and quilting (all skills she learned from her mother). She loved to learn and try new skills from cheesemaking, painting eggs to building rock fences. She also enjoyed indexing and seeking out her ancestors. With a loving smile, she could retell the stories of her pioneering ancestors as if she had personally met each of them. She found great joy in sharing those stories to her posterity.
She loved deeply and was fiercely loyal. Family mattered the most to her and she was very proud of her nine children. While she loved her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held her whole heart.
As a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, she held a strong love of the gospel. In quiet moments, she would often share her testimony with her children and grandchildren. One of the highlights of her life included the time she spent visiting the Holy Land with her eternal companion. She supported her husband in his callings and other obligations, even if it required changing water or fixing fences. Together, they served a full-time senior mission in Croatia. They loved the people and the country where they served. For many years, they served in the Vernal Utah Temple.
She was sassy and classy with a quirky sense of humor. In the last few years she has been able to go on trips with her daughter Julie and loved to go on drives with her children. In April, she traveled through Southern Utah, Arizona and California on a girls week with her daughters.
Angeline is survived by her children: Karryn (Roy), Julie, Alison (Bill), Roger (Tania), Ruth (Ammon), Kristie (John), Robert (Pam), Sharleen (Eric), Edwin (Jana); 37 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Angie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred ; her parents, Elvin & Angeline; and all her siblings: Betty, William, Glen, Elaine, Marjorie, Pleasy, Mary, Anna and Susanne.
