Anessa Joey Arhi Poowegup, age 42, of Lapoint, passed away September 9, 2017 at the UBMC
She was Born June 3, 1975 in Roosevelt to Donald L. Reed and Nancy Renee Poowegup. Anessa played on the Uintah High School basketball team. She participated in tap classes and did roping in her younger years. She was the 2nd attendant for the 4th of July Pow Wow. She attended Steven Henager College in Orem. She worked with BIA as a clerk. She was a great cook and could bake about anything, she grew beautiful flowers and had a green thumb. She had a wonderful talent of making arts and crafts and would share them with everyone. She liked all sports and was a die hard fan of the Utah Jazz and the University of Utah Utes. She enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards, gambling, participating in handgames, and traveling. She had a soft spot for animals and would care for any lost animal that crossed her path. She delighted in planning road trips, dinners and birthday parties. She loved her family and they always came first.
She is survived by her son, Dapree Anthony Honwynewa; mother, Nancy Poowegup; both of Lapoint; brothers and sisters, Ronnie Kay Pawwinnee, Whiterocks; Mathias (Malenadee Garcia) Wopsock, Lawrence, Kansas; Trini (Keenan Taveapont) Wopsock; LeRoy Reed, Jon Don Reed, Alyassa (Sili) Maile, Rosalia Vanderhoop, all of Whiterocks; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Don Reed, sister Ondi Wopsock, brother Devin Reed, former companion, Fred Honwynewa.
Funeral services held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Community Center.
A wake will be held after 4:00 pm. at the Community Center Building.
Burial in the Red Knoll Cemetery.
