Alvin Denver

    Alvin "Lil Sonny" Richard Denver, age 75, of Roosevelt, passed away on January 26, 2015 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.
    Alvin was born August 21, 1939 in Ft. Duchesne to Alvin "Sonny" Richardson and Naomi Houtz Denver.
    He married Melva June Platter on April 26, 1963. She died August 13, 2010.
    Lil Sonny attended Altamont High School graduating in 1958.   He was a member of the Shoshone tribe and was proud of his Indian heritage and their ways.   He drove truck for many years for the Teamster Union 13. He liked to hunt and fish, especially in the Hill Creek area. He was a wonderful, awesome father who loved his family very much.
    He is survived by his children, Valerie J Denver-Atkinson, Raelene Denver, Richard Wayne Jackson, Neita M (Bill) Sorensen-Jackson, Lance A Jackson,12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and his siblings.
    He was preceded in death by his wife Melva June.
