Lola Alice Justice Ward Hullinger, age 73, of Roosevelt, passed away December 12, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.
She was born May 10, 1943, in Spokane, WA, to Weston Harrison and Ruby Alice Penfold Justice. She married Terry Alfred Ward on October 9, 1962, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 9, 1969. He died October 19, 1997. She married Hollis Gilbert “Gib” Hullinger, II on March 21, 1998 in Roosevelt.
Alice had worked as a Chapter I Aid for the Uintah School District for many years. She was very much a homemaker and really enjoyed sewing, gardening, and canning what she grew. She was devoted to her family, often traveling to where her children were to help with sicknesses, new babies, or tending while the parents went on vacation. She was the primary caregiver to her mother, Ruby, who had just turned 99. She was well known for her excellent yodeling skills, which she loved to share, and her remedies for any type of illness or ailment.
Alice had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings. Her great sense of humor, boisterous laugh, and big heart will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Gib Hullinger, mother, Ruby Justice, both of Roosevelt; children, Ronald Ward, Ft. Duchesne; Teresa (EG) Humphrey, St. George; Alicia Ward, Sandy; Malinda (Kevin) Daybell, Grantsville; Kaylene (Kent) Allred, Sandy; step-children, Gil (Karla) Hullinger, Roosevelt; Rodney (Lisa) Hullinger, Oregon; Steve Hullinger, Roosevelt; Clayton (Julie) Hullinger, St. George; 29 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Allen (Larae) Justice, Vernal; and Tom (Carolyn) Justice, Roosevelt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry; a grandson, Braison, and a great grandson, Noah, father, Weston Justice.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the LaPoint LDS Chapel. There will be a viewing on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and on Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the LaPoint Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.hullingermortuary.com
