Alberto Apresa Silva, age 76, of Myton, passed away September 6, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 26, 1947, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Geronimo Silva and Angelina Apresa. While in Mexico, he played semi-pro baseball and, after immigrating to the United States, he became a passionate Chicago Cubs fan.
He married Belen Valdez on April 2, 1984, in Farmington, Utah.
Alberto worked as a coal miner and most recently as a sheep shearer. He was a very hardworker and a good provider for his family. He was an avid gardener and had many tools that only he could use. He loved his family and after raising his children, he was very proud to have raised six grandchildren.
Alberto is survived by his wife of 39 years, Belen; children, Maria Valdez (Cliff Christello); Xavier (Heather) Silva; Ofelia Silva; Bruce Silva; Adrian Silva; Kevin (Zaisha) Silva; Alberto (NJ) Silva, Jr.; Kristapher Silva; Nassario (Juana) Silva; Hector Silva; Maria Los Angeles Silva; Maria Del Socorro Silva, Jaime Silva; 38 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Myton Community Building. There will be a viewing on Sunday 5-7 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the community building.
Burial will be in the Myton Cemetery.
