With great sorrow we come together to celebrate the beautiful life of Albert Roy Richard who passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019.
This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be missed by his best friend, the love of his life for 54 years, Patricia Lee Delahoussaye, and his two children, Cherie Rene (Ashworth) and Chad Michael Richard.
Family was the key essence of Albert’s life. He was proud and honored to be the patriarch, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to our large family. He has been a major presence and influence in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
He was the proud grandfather to Jazlyn (Feild), Rhen, Kaden, Mykynli (Knight), Kaleb Ashworth, Branson Ashworth and proud great-grandpa to Daxtyn, Bronx, Mavryx, Poppy, Goldie, Ruby, Iyla, Navy and Kove.
He was the son of the late Ira and Iris of Church Point, Louisiana and the brother to Rodney, Beatrice, Liz, Patricia and Lois. He is preceded by siblings Anna Mae and Audrey.
Dedicated to always supporting his grandkids, Albert proudly followed, cheered and supported every football, baseball, rodeo, wrestling, volleyball, cheerleading, softball or singing event that his grandkids were involved in.
Albert will be fondly remembered and forever looked up to by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many good friends from the horse racing family, rodeo family, wrestling family and oilfield family.
Alongside his beloved son, Albert owned and operated Delsco Northwest for over 40 years where he proved to be an example, role model, and friend to many colleagues, coworkers, and employees.
He was strong and direct, but also a kind, pure, and genuine man holding the highest integrity in business and family life.
Albert will always be remembered by his family for the unconditional love that he gave each and every one of us regardless of the circumstance. Albert leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication and persistence to the task at hand. Albert will forever be in our hearts, minds and souls. He was truly an amazing man. We are lucky to call him our husband, father and papa Albert.
