Adel Fred Blackhair (Asak), age 31, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 in Roosevelt.
He was born August 1, 1984 in Lander, WY, to Keith K. Blackhair and Helen G. Ward. He grew up in Ft. Washakie, and later moved to Ft. Duchesne.
Adel was a star player for the Ft. Washakie Eagle Jr. High and Lander Tigers football, basketball, and wrestling teams. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball, hunting, fishing and being with his family. He was a Sundancer and enjoyed singing and dancing at pow-wows and Sundances with his uncles Anson, Ted and the late Lance Manning, and the Chepeta Lake Jrs. He was a big fan of the Chicago Bulls, the Boston Celtics, Kansas City Chiefs, and the New York Yankees. He was an all-state baseball player, and enjoyed his X-Box One and going to casinos. Hanging out with his brothers was one of his favorite things to do, and he loved his children.
He is survived by his parents, Keith K. Blackhair, Helen G. Ward, Johnna Blackhair; wife, Sarah A. Blackhair; children, Gracelyn Blackhair, Ilan Nez; brothers, Keith, Denny, & Chase Blackhair; sisters, Shermaine (Ryan) & Ciana (Anthony) Blackhair; grandmothers, Audrey Ward, Lorena Foursouls, Delores LaRose, Judy Day; aunts, Camille Day, Delberta Hurtado, Percel Cesspooch, Marla Manning, Stephanie Cuch, Delloy Arrowchis, Mandi A. Mills, Carol Arrowchis, Larae Foursouls, Evelyn Tidzump; uncles, Allen Ward, Vincent Chippewa, Eustace Day, Anson & Ted Manning, Josh Ute, and Jake Hill; numerous nieces, nephews, and members of the Day, Enos, Wesaw, Hill, Blackhair, Manning, LaRose, Ridley, Serawop, Myore, and Mills families and many relatives from Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, and Montana.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Gracelyn K. Blackhair & Alameda Foursouls; grandfather, Alfred Ward, and numerous grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the John Harmes Cemetery in Whiterocks.
A wake will be held Friday, November 20, 2015, after 4:00 p.m. at Denny Blackhair's residence (Coonsville) Ft. Duchesne.
