Paul Eric Mathiesen age 62, of Neola, was called to the side of our Lord on July 2, 2020.
Born September 11, 1957 in Pasadena, Ca. to Axel and Edith Godine Pedersen Mathiesen, Paul, was a long time Neola resident who built and designed his home there.
Paul, a Master Electrician, worked most of his life for the International Brotherhood of Electricians (IBEW). The IBEW honored Paul with their highest award for saving the life of a fellow electrician who was accidentally electrocuted. During Desert Storm, Paul served his country as a reservist in the United States Air Force.
The adored father of five enjoyed many things in life: hunting, Karaoke, playing his harmonica in a band with his friends, jumping off the cliffs at Red Fleet and being with his family whom he loved
Paul is survived by his children, Elizabeth Mathiesen (Russell Christian), Neola; Allison Stireman, Taylorsville; Isaik (Laura Lynn) Mathiesen, Georgia; Jeremy Mathiesen, Oklahoma; Joseph Mathiesen, Washington; 10 grandchildren; siblings; Ron Mathiesen, Lone Stephens, Judy (Rick) Warner, and Steve (KC Frkovich) Mathiesen.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Axel and Edith.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10th, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with visitation from 10-10:45 am. We ask all who attend to please wear a mask.
Burial will be in the Neola Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion and Patriot Guard Riders.
