Mary Duncan

   Mary Powell Duncan, age 88, of Neola, passed away on January 8, 2019 at her home.
    She was born February 2, 1930 in Vernal to John and Ruth Olive Gray Powell. She married Ronald Duncan, November 21, 1956, they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on her birthday, February 2, 1966.
    Mary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held several church callings, including; Sunday School Coordinator for 9 years, as a councilor in the Stake Young Women’s Presidency, Primary Presidency, Ward Young Women’s Presidency, Relief Society and as a primary worker.  She was an avid horse shoe pitcher, winning numerous trophies and awards.  She loved to spend time in her garden growing flowers and vegetables.  She delighted in cooking for people, including her grandchildren who sometimes asked for a loaf of “monkey bread” for their birthdays.  She loved to play games with her grandchildren.      
    She is survived by her husband, Ron Duncan, children, John (JoEllen) Duncan, Greg (Linda) Duncan, Penney (Duane) Riches, 19 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren, siblings, Robert Powell, and Betty Sheffer.
    She was preceded in death by per parents, siblings, John Powell, Keith Powell, Kelly Powell, Dorothy Pearson, Alice Lewis, and daughter, Deborah Alexander.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola Church.  Viewings will be held on Monday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.
    Burial in the Neola Cemetery.
