Connie Rae Serawop

Connie Rae Serawop, age 62, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away June 19, 2021, at a hospital in New Mexico.
She was born September 27, 1958, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Petro Wilson and Georgina Nephi Serawop. She married Terry Appah and they later divorced.
Connie loved & enjoyed her life in beautiful Santa Fe, NM. She loved New Mexico Cuisine, it was green & red chile on everything! You could always find Connie gardening in the warm New Mexico sun during Spring & Summer, her neighbors always complimented her on how beautiful her yard was. She enjoyed music/concerts with her daughters, visiting museums, traveling, plaza shopping for Native/Spanish jewelry in downtown Santa Fe, hiking, & cooking. She loved going to spas, she would always make a refreshing trip to Ojo Caliente. Her greatest love & enjoyment, was attending all her beloved granddaughter Lily’s events, which brought her such happiness! She was Lily’s biggest supporter, Connie just loved & adored her granddaughter!
For the last 14 years, Connie worked at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in registration. She strived to treat all patients with professionalism, respect, & with the highest quality of service/care. That was her top priority! In Fall of 2020, Connie happily retired.
Connie was a hard-worker, loving & kind. She was so optimistic & she would always say: “Have hope, have faith, don’t stress, don’t worry, everything will always work itself out!” She always made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her friends & co-workers would often describe her as a “strong, independent, powerhouse of a woman, who stood for herself & her girls.” She cherished all her friendships.
With great sadness we say farewell, Mommy, “Nannie”, Sister, Auntie, & Friend … but we have comfort knowing she is at peace & reunited with her loved ones & Creator.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Kimberlee T and Shawndi L. Appah, granddaughter, Lily Romero, all of Santa Fe, New Mexico; siblings, Timothy Sirewop; Parley (Winnifred) Serawop, both of Sunshine Acres; Pasecho “PJ” Serawop, Coonesville; Miriam Serawop, Vernal; Maureen Serawop (Gregory Ignacio), Coonesville; aunts, Jacqueline Lee, Torrie Nephi; & numerous nieces, nephews, & other relatives.
