Lucille Frost

Lucille Linn Karney Frost, age 76, of Randlett, peacefully passed and returned home to her Heavenly Father and her sweetheart Joe on October 20, 2016 at the Uintah Basin Rehabilitation Center.
The youngest of 6, Lucille was born in La Junta, Colorado to Guy Hugh Jobe (Joe) and Mary Isabell Bollinger Karney. When she was 14 her dad was killed in a car accident in October. She spent her childhood in La Junta and graduated from La Junta High School in 1958.
She married Joe Ferd Frost on February 22, 1958. In March Joe and his 3 brothers purchased a ranch in Deep Creek Utah. After Lucille graduated Joe brought Lucille to Utah to live on the ranch. Their daughter Mary Linn was born in November 1958. In 1965 they moved to Myton where in 1968 Lucille and Joe finally got their son, Joe Shane. In 1970 they purchased their ranch in Randlett with 400 head of sheep. After a year they sold the sheep and bought cows and went into milking with Clyde and Elsie. When Lucille and Joe sold their milk cows they went back to beef cattle. Lucille worked right long side Joe in all aspects of the farming and ranching besides keeping their home and worked several outside jobs. While living in Myton Lucille and Geraldine cooked meals and homemade bread and pies for Johnny's Ringneck Pheasant Reserve. One of the groups who they served was Norse, Welti, and James. She worked at a sewing plant, Dove's Discount Grocery Store, Milt's in Vernal, and IFA was the most recent.
On October 31, 1985 Lucille was devastated by the loss of her husband Joe who was killed in a car accident. Six months later she had breast cancer and became a survivor.
November 1988 Lucille married Ron Kendell who also worked at IFA. This gave Lucille 6 more children and many grandchildren to love
Lucille was a very strong lady. In 1998 she was diagnosed with Parkinson. Lucille had a long struggle with it as it slowly took away most of her capabilities. In 2006 on her 66th birthday she moved into the care center in Roosevelt. This was very hard for her as she was so used to working hard and doing everything for herself and others.
Lucille loved life and having fun. Lucille loved people and especially kids and babies. She was always a big kid at heart. Family was most important to her. She was very close to her family and Joe's family. Being Grandma was the joy of her life and she always said if she knew how fun it was she'd have had her grandkids first. She was always the first one to support her grandkids in anything they did whether it was school activities, baseball, or wrestling and rodeo. She was also the loudest one cheering and was fun to watch as she hooped and hollered forgetting all else. Roller skating, ice skating, sledding, going to the movies, playing cards and games with her kids and grandkids was always fun for Lucille. She loved to go dancing, bowling, and gambling in Nevada. She loved sewing, knitting, quilting, and covering hangers to give as gifts. She used to make everyone a wedding quilt and baby quilt before the Parkinson slowed her down. Lucille would do anything for her kids, grandkids, family, friends, neighbors, or total strangers. If someone was in need she wanted to help.
